Kathie York's Professional Portfolio
Project Management
Our assignment was to write a paper on project ethics and I have done so. However, this is a different approach than most research I have perused. All authors define ethics and the difference between right and wrong. Most posit examples of poor business ethics (which we can then translate to projects) and offer "they-should-have" statements.
I wanted to dig a little deeper.
Looking only at the United States, I wondered: "How did we get here? How have we become a nation where business students must write an ethics paper? Wasn't the Golden Rule part of the little book Everything I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten? Did the rest of the country go to a different type of Kindergarten?
Let us examine an America where values have continually plummeted over the past 40 years and try to make sense of it. And - oh yes - let us examine ways we, as Project Managers (or those who support them), might help stem that tide.
